Pickleball El Paso Association donated high quality windscreens to Skyline Youth Optimist Park and they look great! I was shocked by how long the installation took. The top and bottom alone required 120 metal clips each, installed one-by-one, to connect the screens to the fence. Two support wires add stability.
A steady traffic pattern has been established on Saturdays - come play at the park!

Ascarate courts to close for repair, play at Skyline
Repairs are scheduled for July 7 - 21 at Ascarate, and the pickleball courts will be closed. Conveniently, Skyline in northeast, 5050 Yvette, is available as a no-fee outdoor option. A Saturday traffic pattern has developed over the past few weeks - come play in the park. See the where to play tab.
Several Beginner Clinics - check our homepage

Our eastside members are offering an evening clinic on July 9, at Gary del Palacio.
The Nolan "first Friday of the month" clinic has been moved to the second Friday in July only (July 11) because of the holiday.
A new "third Monday of the month" beginner clinic will be offered at Sun City Pickleball, located at 6301 Alabama, inside Bethel Temple.
West side woes
As it rains, so does the Galatzan roof leak. Unfortunately, there is oil leaking as well this time. Richard is opening courts as he is able, but the leaks are moving around so expect limited court availability or call the gym first at 915-212-0734. A work order has been submitted. Don Haskins completed their kid camps this week and open play pickleball will resume the week of July 7.
We have been waiting for new, between-the-court-barriers at Galatzan for some time. The City has had an issue with ordering from Amazon, so per Richard, Carlos is trying a new avenue to get this done.

When we started this organization there were only a couple of outdoor, multi-use lines for our sport, namely at Sun Rise park in northeast. Now there are several parks with lines, and two facilities with dedicated courts. We have come a long way thanks to our volunteers.
Play happy,
Jamie Fisher
