About Pickleball
El Paso
Pickleball El Paso Association is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was founded to promote the sport of pickleball and to improve the quality of life for all through recreation and social engagement, in an environment of goodwill and inclusivity.
Pickleball El Paso Has Launched!
Pickleball El Paso Association was launched on November 8, 2021, with its inaugural board meeting. Founded to organize a widely scattered community of enthusiasts, its primary mission is to obtain facilities.
When the club launched in late November, 2021, most courts were indoor, multi-use basketball courts, available limited hours on weekday mornings.
By meeting with City Representatives, and the Parks and Recreation Department, Pickleball El Paso has been able to get lines added to outdoor tennis courts, giving our working players an option. We asked for and were granted inclusion of eight permanent pickleball courts in the Master Plan for the new Mary Francis Keisling Park off of Upper Valley Road (July, 2022). After a pitch to El Paso County by President Jamie Fisher, in January 2022, plans were begun for the first dedicated courts. On November 15, 2022, four dedicated courts were opened to the public at Ascarate Park. Working in collaboration with the Sun Bowl Association, El Paso's first divisional tournament was held at Eastwood High School, March 22-23, 2025. On April 3, 2025, six dedicated courts at Skyline Youth Park were added to the City of El Paso's park system.
PEPA was granted 501c3 non-profit status in August, 2022.
