Skyline Re-Opens, Serve Opens, Summer Camps

Timing is everything: courts re-open just in time for PEPA picnic

Repairs have been completed and the courts at Skyline were opened Friday night, just in time for our Saturday picnic. It was a great weather day, good food, fun competition. As always our volunteers came through. Ben Avalos worked with the City up to the last minute on getting the courts repaired and opened. A big shout out to our brisket and pork cookers Marc Aguirre, Patty Morrow, and Kelly Groves, and Jim Rolph wins the award for best traveling kitchen! He rolled in a cart with camp stove on top and cooking supplies underneath.

Some members said they were unaware of the event. What is the best way to communicate with you? We send the newsletter, post on Facebook, and post on some threads, but what I hear most from people is word-of-mouth works best.

Club Rec affects pickleball hours

With the school year ending some gyms will be hosting Club Rec, the City's summer programs for kids. This will affect pickleball gym hours at the following locations beginning Monday, June 9. Please check the Where To Play table to avoid being surprised.

Serve opens

Serve, a private venture, has opened five indoor and four outdoor pickleball courts at 1633 Cimarron Emporium in west El Paso. Food services will open at a later date. Courts can be reserved by the hour by calling or using the app. Some members reported that the distance from the baseline to the wall was short but that the court surface was excellent.
