Skills and Drills, Pot Luck and Annual Meeting - It's a Party!

Be at Galatzan Wednesday, October 15 for a celebration of Pickleball El Paso! There will be:
9AM - 11:15 open play
11:30 - 1:00 Omar is cooking up a Skills and Drills challenge
1:00 potluck and annual meeting (very short) will be at 1:00, at which time we will provide financial report and have our election of directors.
Lets celebrate PEPA's 4th birthday! 🎉
Please bring a bag of wrapped candy.
Galatzan is not holding a candy tournament this fall because there are so many with all of the gyms, so they are looking for donations for their Halloween Carnival for the kids. They have been very supportive of our community since the earliest days, so lets see if we can help them with this.

Enough said - thank you to everyone who called 311 and made various "reminders" to the City. "Encouraging" government entities to build and maintain pickleball facilities is the core of PEPA - thank you members for your support!
Pickle and Par planning to open Thursday
Pickle and Par, a private venue located in Canutillo at 480 Talbot Avenue, will be opening later this week. Owner, Scott Canada, shared that courts will open 24-hours after the painting is finished.

Located next to Four 80’s Sports Bar, and tucked back about a half block off of Talbot Avenue, the new indoor facility will feature eight indoor pickleball courts, a pro shop, and upstairs lounge and viewing area.
The club will be open daily from 7:00 am-11:00 pm. Daily open play will be from 7AM to 9:30AM and 5PM to 7:30PM for $15 per person, with open play courts separated by skill level. All other times the cost per court is $50 per hour. Cash, credit, and other contactless payment options are accepted.
Walk-ins are welcome but in order to reserve courts in advance, players must sign up for a free, “Future Members”, membership option.
Players are welcome to bring their own non-alcoholic beverages and snacks to the facility when they play.
As part of their grand opening activities, the venue will host its Pickle and Par Premier Tournament on October 11 and 12 with open and mixed doubles in beginner, intermediate, and advanced divisions.

Candy tournament time at Gary del Palacio

Palacio players had a great time at the annual Halloween tournament. Fourteen teams made up whimsical names for themselves. Smash Rattlers were the winners. Happy Birthday, Javier!
