Member Picnic Around the Corner
Don’t forget our Member Appreciation Picnic! Members are welcome to bring a spouse OR plus one, but PLEASE RSVP
so we have an idea of how much food to provide. More information is provided at the link.
And speaking of Chamizal ...
On March 30, permanent lines were painted for four pickleball courts under the shade structure at Chamizal. A big shout out to our paint team: Sandy McDermott, Ben Avalos, Dow Farley, Adrian Dante, Julio Gutierrez, Art Dominguez, Rafa Gonzalez, and Andre Muldrow. The total shade coverage and solid wall offer good protection from sun and wind.
City Bond Meetings
A big “Hip, Hip Hooray” for the approximately 37 members who attended the City Bond meetings. Just six months ago, the city employees I spoke with did not know what pickleball was. That is changing.
Paul Harvey Park has pickleball lines!
Players need to provide their own nets, and there is tennis traffic on these dual-purpose courts, but this is an important addition to our westside options (near Sunland Park).
Aaron Gifford Tournament Results
On April 1, 225 players converged on New Mexico State Tennis Complex to compete in the third annual Aaron Gifford pickleball tournament. El Paso was well represented. Full results can be seen here
Play on,
